Noah’s 1st birthday

I cannot believe it’s already been a year.  Time flies as you get older.  We did a Yo Gabba Gabba theme featuring Brobee, the little green one, since Noah’s loved that show since 6 months.

He was a little apprehensive about his playmates at first.  He’s never been on a playdate and only hangs around his brother, LJ.  He was also pretty nervous about all of us singing and then clapping at the end, as you can tell my the look on his face.

He’s never really had any real sweets before, so once he figured out the Brobee cupcake was ALL his, he didn’t let it go.

While making the Brobee cake, we made a last minute decision to make a sort of rainbow cake.  Then we made cupcakes the same color as the character.  We made the cakes the night before his party and ended up decorating them the day of.  Which is why we forgot Toodee (who likes to have fun!).  I was sad about this since one of our guests asked for her.  But Muno, Foofa, Plex, Brobee and DJ Lance (who, in cupcake form, looks better as just his furry orange hat) turned out really well.

I only decorated the Plex cupcakes (the yellow robot) and Louie did the rest, including the cake.  I’m only slightly jealous at his amazing talent.  I did, however, come up with the idea to use mini marshmallows for the eyes!  Okay, not really; I read it online somewhere.

It was low-key but tons of fun.  I’m glad we didn’t decide to go bigger, as dad and I were wiped at the end.

I’ll go ahead and start taking orders on what kind of cake you’d like Louie to make for your kid’s birthday.
